Colorado, we must find new leaders. Leaders who want to be held accountable; Leaders who will seek out and take responsibility for their actions; Leaders who will work for the people; Leaders who will provide solutions for the people; Leaders who won't flagrantly waste taxpayer dollars; and leaders who have integrity, intelligence, energy, and passion. I believe, based on my background, experiences, and accomplishments, I am the most qualified and competent leader to move Colorado forward. I have a leadership education from WEST POINT;  The Purpose of the United States Military Academy is to provide the Nation with leaders of character who serve the common defense. I have practical military knowledge and experience serving as a US Army officer; I have numerous accomplishments as an entrepreneur; I have several years of business experience as a small business owner; and lastly, I have a background in finance with real life experiences as a professional money manager. Colorado, we need to fix the economy and everything else will fall into place. We will accomplish this by getting jobs back into our state; ending the spending; balancing our budget; paying down our out of control debt; and then positioning Colorado for the opportunities of tomorrow. In order to move Colorado forward, we absolutely must discuss the real issues of improving Colorado's cash flow and budget, education, healthcare, immigration, infrastructure, and banking in Colorado - not act like they don’t exist.

My Goals as Governor of Colorado:

      1) Provide new Leadership through critical, deep, independent thinking.

      2) Turn Colorado's economy around by focusing on sound financial principles used in the private sector.

      3) Solve problems and improve Colorado at the state level without intervention from Washington.

      4) Restore confidence and trust in our leaders amongst the people we are suppose to be representing.

Fix Colorado's economy and everything else will fall into place. Entrepreneurs and businesses create jobs!!!! We need to be partnering with entrepreneurs, entrepreneurial companies, and businesses of all sizes to create jobs for all Coloradans - not running these companies out of our great state!! Colorado, if we have a strong economy, then we will have the money to improve education, healthcare, and infrastructure for all Coloradans. Colorado has a naturally diverse economic state from energy to biotech to tourism. We can build on this; however, we can do better given the resources that our great state has naturally provided for us. Colorado, we cannot produce lasting wealth creating jobs in the frontier industries of tomorrow by spending our way into massive budget deficits that result in stock piles of debt; or by passing overly burdensome environmental legislation for Colorado's vast and enormously profitable energy and natural resources industries. This does not create wealth or net worth, just as it would not for a business or an individual. You create wealth and net worth by saving and investing. That is how business, economics, and finance work. The laws of finance, business, and economics do not cease to exist because you are a "government". Specifically, here is what we must do to improve on what we already have - and at the same time - get Coloradans back to work.

      1) Get energy and natural resources firms back to Colorado! = jobs, jobs, jobs! 

        How: By repealing the anti-drilling anti-business legislation put into place by Colorado's last Governor.

      2) Get profitable viable entrepreneurial businesses back into our state = more and more jobs!

        How: By emphasizing Colorado's great quality of life; by having the most favorable business and personal tax structure in the union; by continuing the advancements in the alternative energy sector; and by actively and vigorously recruiting firms to headquarter here in Colorado.

      3) End the spending = less government.

        How: Budget cuts across the board; 50% reduction in the Governor's staff; and not spending $200,000 on personal family photos!

      Simply completing steps 1, 2, and 3 will allow us to balance the Colorado budget. Then we can:

      4) Start to pay down our unsustainable debt level = less government.

        How: Only spend what we make, and nothing more. Just like your family or personal budget - there is absolutely no difference if you are a "government."

      5) Position Colorado for the opportunities of tomorrow = jobs, jobs, jobs!

        How: By getting back to our state's rights! The federal government is too big, intrusive, and incompetent. Here are the general areas that can be governed much more effectively at the state level:

        1. The Budget: For a solution focus on creating a "positive cash flow" for Colorado!!!!!

      How to balance Colorado's budget and pay down our out of control debt:

      1) Reduce the Governor's staff by 50% on Day 1. This may not even make a dent of more than a few million dollars in reducing the state budget deficit, but it shows leadership by example which is important for morale of other government employees and citizens of Colorado.

      2) 10% across the board reduction in pay for the remaining Governor's staff. Again, this will not solve the budget crisis as a standalone cut, but leading by example is what leadership is all about.

      3) 1% across the board reduction in the following general areas: health care, higher education, and K-12 schools. I know this is a highly sensitive and potentially divisive issue; however, with the situation we are currently in, there aren't any other viable, realistic, and implementable alternatives. With the proper oversight and cooperation this decision will be completely undetectable to students, faculty, and the quality of education received. Sort of like a family budget. Once you are use to your own budget, saving and investing the difference is easy as 1-2-3.

      4) 2% across the board reduction in the following general areas: Corrections, Human Services, and Other (mostly from this bureaucratic albatross I am sure).

      Coupled with the savings above, here are my revenue ideas for the state of Colorado:

      1) Undo the disastrous anti-business anti-competitive anti-drilling measures imposed by Governor Ritter (D) on the energy and natural resources industries.

      2) Return Colorado to a pro business state recruiting and encouraging all companies from a diverse variety of industries to headquarter here in Colorado.

      Goal for Colorado: To be #1 in budget surplus per capita in the union.

        2. Education: For a solution focus on letting "teachers be teachers"!!!!

      It is good that Colorado made the final 16 in the "Race to the Top" contest for federal education funds. However, we can do better Colorado! We finished 14 out of 16 beating out only New York and Washington D.C. This just simply is not good enough. I am not against unions. However, teacher unions must compromise on some issues relating to pay, tenure, and performance. Not discussing these issues is hurting our quality of education. We absolutely have to address tenure, teacher pay, and unjustifiably retaining incompetent teachers. Otherwise, we will get more of the same - closed schools (Manual High, 2006), closed libraries (all four in North Aurora, 2010), and no return of tax dollars we are sending to Washington. It is important to note that I am the only candidate for governor that has brought attention and awareness to the shortsightedness of closing the aforementioned libraries - all in North Aurora. I currently have a plan in place to reopen at least two of these libraries - one as a computer learning center, and the Mission Viejo location as if it never closed!

      Goal for Colorado: To be #1 in the union with a 40% + college graduation rate.

        3. Healthcare: For a solution focus on "cutting the cost of healthcare" for all Coloradans!!!

      I am against Government run healthcare of any kind. Cover Colorado already addresses most of the issues (including pre-existing conditions) covered in the new federal legislation known as Obamacare. Whose interests were our elected officials representing when they voted for this bill - the people of Colorado, or the interests of their political party? Hard to say our elected officials were representing our interests when we already have a very good healthcare system in place. To make it better: increase the visibility and ease of use of Health Savings Accounts (HSA) to all Coloradans; allow insurance to be sold across state lines (increasing competition); tackle tort reform and Medicare/Medicaid fraud head-on (manual labor sentences for those found guilty of fraud); lastly, make illegal immigrants pay into the system they are using (not doing so is what is bankrupting the system).

      Goal for Colorado: To operate the Colorado healthcare system in the black.

        4. Immigration: For a solution focus on "doing something"!!

      This is almost entirely a federal issue. The Governor of Colorado can ensure that our laws and Constitution are enforced in regards to the illegal immigrants that are already here in Colorado. As the Governor of Colorado that is what I will do.

      Goal for Colorado: To provide a workable implementable agreeable solution.

        5. Banking: For a solution focus on Colorado small businesses!

      I am vehemently and passionately against the Wall Street bailouts & bonuses, GM and Chrysler bailouts, and bailing out irresponsible homeowners. It is wrong, has not worked, and will not work. We should be rewarding savers, investors, and hard workers not punishing them. We should give tax breaks, credits, and/or other incentives to banks and institutions that lend to and promote Colorado small businesses, Colorado families, and Colorado individuals.

      Goal for Colorado: To promote growth and prosperity for Colorado and all Coloradans.

1. Energy for Education. We can do both! Colorado has a huge amount of energy and natural resources. Energy profits and protecting the environment are not mutually exclusive - just ask Alaska ($6B state surplus) and Texas ($10B state surplus). We should be partnering with energy companies, not chastising, punishing, and running them out of our state. By partnering with energy firms Colorado can develop a viable, lasting, and highly profitable alternative energy sector by utilizing the profits generated by oil, natural gas, and clean coal to fund our already vibrant alternative energy industry. Furthermore, we can use the proceeds of these very profitable energy resources to fund education and health care improvements for all Coloradans, infrastructure improvements all over Colorado, balancing the budget, and paying down Colorado's totally out of control debt.

2. Fix the I-70 ski weekend traffic debacle immediately. Our citizens and out of state visitors and tourists deserve better!

      a. Allow I-70 traffic to flow with three West bound lanes (one East bound lane) in the am, and three East bound lanes (one West bound lane) in the pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
      b.During these times no "truckers" will be allowed on I-70.
      c.Allow patrons to use the frontage roads monitored and controlled by local law enforcement officers.
      d.Establish a well known quick response accident reporting hotline so patrons can quickly report accidents so tow trucks can quickly remove the wreck from traffic.
      e.Emphasize to patrons with road signs how one wreck can cause traffic to back up for hours and hours. Go the speed limit and everyone wins!

The Governor of Colorado is the CEO of the state. I am the only candidate that has numerous years in the private sector - specifically in three areas: entrepreneurship, business, and finance. Colorado, we need an entrepreneurial minded fiscal conservative business person with a finance background as Governor of Colorado in order to slash spending, reduce our debt, balance the budget, and get businesses hiring and growing again. We need to do this right now! We cannot wait another 4 years. Based on my applicable qualifications, experience and background, I believe that I am the best leader for Colorado during these tough economic times.

The Governor of Colorado is the Commander in Chief of the Colorado National Guard. I am the only candidate with prior military experience and a leadership education from WEST POINT.  The Purpose of the United States Military Academy is to provide the Nation with leaders of character who serve the common defense. Our nation is at War. The Colorado National Guard is serving, and God help us, dying in this War. Colorado is one of the largest employers and home to numerous military personnel. Colorado, we need someone with prior military experience and expertise in the Governorship to ensure we are doing all that we can for our fellow Coloradans - those who live, work, and call Colorado home.

I have been a proven leader and winner my whole life. Colorado needs a leader to make the right decisions right now. Colorado needs a winner to remain the best state in the union leading America in education, healthcare, entrepreneurship, business innovation, and home to the most spectacular skiing and snowboarding areas in the world!

A proven leader at WEST POINT, graduating with honors as a Distinguished Wreath Recipient - marking high achievement in academics, military, and physical fitness. Received a BS degree in Business Management & Systems Engineering. WEST POINT exists to produce leaders of character for our nation. The Purpose of the United States Military Academy is to provide the Nation with leaders of character who serve the common defense.  Proving the worthiness and competence of this American institution was most recently marked by Forbes Magazine ranking WEST POINT the #1 College in America (Y 2009).

A proven leader in the US Army, leading a combat ready Armored Scout Platoon of 30+ soldiers equipped with M1A1 tanks and Bradley Fighting Vehicles. As a US Army officer I received numerous awards, and noteworthy accomplishments including top scores on field maneuvers, gunnery, and my entire platoon's physical fitness.

A proven leader in the private sector, owning and operating my own business, Clark Brothers Investments (o/ Clark Bros, Inc.), which I alone started from scratch on August 31, 2005. Starting, owning, and operating my own company during the worst decade for the stock market in the history of the United States (including the Civil War era and the 1930's) is by far my biggest accomplishment. In addition, this was done during a time period when the US government has been using my tax dollars - both personal and business - and giving it directly to my competition (referencing the Wall Street bailouts).

A proven leader in the investment community, working in numerous areas of finance to include: investment and portfolio management, the insurance industry, estate planning, financial planning, institutional equity, private equity, venture capital, as well as several entrepreneurial start up ventures - Sunset Shores, Inc., APlaceForMom.com, Ranek's Gym & Sports Training, USA Computer Link, and Clark Brothers Investments.

My job specific experiences for Governor of Colorado are as follows:

I have an extensive entrepreneurial, business, and financial background. I know what entrepreneurs, small businesses, and businesses of all sizes from a variety of industries need from the government of Colorado to be highly innovative profitable tax generating entities for our state. When I started Clark Brothers Investments in 2005, I recognized that Wall Street was biased, greed driven, and would eventually fail - as it did referencing the Wall Street bailouts. This is why I started Clark Bros. - to be a truly Independent financial services firm that has a business model that would allow us to always act in the best interest of our clients (i.e. the people).

I have a leadership education from WEST POINT with practical military experience. This is a must for a Governor in charge of the Colorado National Guard in a time of War. Coloradans are fighting and dying in the War in the Middle East. We must recognize this selfless service, honor the fallen, and take care of our wounded warriors. Additionally, the domestic pressure to suppress, uncover, and incarcerate home grown radical Islamofascist terrorists has never been greater.

I have spent my entire private life after military service in the finance sector. An acute and practical real life understanding of finance, economics, and numbers is absolutely essential during the worst recession in America's history since the Great Depression. During these trying times it is essential that Colorado elect a Governor who understands all aspects of finance so we can balance the budget, pay down our out of control debt, and position Colorado for the economic opportunities of the future.

John Hickenlooper (D) - By electing John Hickenlooper (D) the next Governor of Colorado we are sending the unintended message that we approve of Bill Ritter running Colorado's economy into the ground....and then "quitting".

A pure Democratic state is not good for Colorado - Denver Mayor (D), Governor (D), Lt Governor (D), both US Senators (D), 5 out of the 7 in the US House (D), both the Colorado Senate (D) and the Colorado House of Representatives (D), Secretary of State (D), Colorado State Treasurer (D), and lastly, 5 out of the 7 Colorado Supreme Court Justices (D) - that is appointed by Democratic Governors. Pure democracies are very bad for governing, the sole reason we fought the Revolutionary War, and the very reason we are in the situation we are in right now in Colorado and America. There is no balance of power, and the Democratic Party is doing what they think is best for us, not listening to what we think is best for us. Specifically: healthcare, the Wall Street bailouts & bonuses, the GM & Chrysler bailouts, KSM in NYC, and the War in Afghanistan.

Mayor John Hickenlooper (D) has left Denver straddled with massive city debt of $120 million, and sure to get much-much larger. There are not any business initiatives that Mayor John Hickenlooper (D) initiated as Denver Mayor that would be directly applicable to All of Colorado. Just tax and spend, tax and spend, tax and spend. If elected Governor of Colorado, that is what we will get - a big city tax and spend liberal Democrat. We cannot afford four more years of Bill Ritter (D) recycled Colorado.

Colorado, we must hire a true fiscal conservative as the next Governor of Colorado, not the very politicians that spent us into this mess ($120M for Denver, $1.5B for Colorado). The Democrat John Hickenlooper is not the right leader for all of Colorado. Next stop California!

Disenfranchised Democrats - Your party leadership has failed you every step of the way not accomplishing anything they promised you during the last Presidential campaign.

It is no wonder that the party of JFK feels disenfranchised with the Obama Democrats, because the Obama Democrats have made broken promise after broken promise after broken promise. Promised jobs, jobs, jobs; a year later, no jobs created-none; Promised to End the War in the Middle East, expanded it. Promised a public option on healthcare, hasn’t happened. Promised illegal immigration reform, nothing. Promised to close Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, hasn't happened. Promised to tackle gay rights initiatives, nothing. Promised global warming legislation, nothing. Promised limits on Executive Powers, nothing. Promised reform on Wall Street; nothing. Promised torture investigations, nothing. Promised to improve image and relations abroad, threw Israel to the wolves and abandoned our strongest allies in Eastern Europe. Couldn’t even get the Olympics to Chicago despite our President personally speaking to the Olympic Committee himself. Promised numerous times on the campaign trail that all debates would be open to the public on CSPAN; Nancy Pelosi (D) just announced that CSPAN will not broadcast any of the debates on healthcare reform. Not one single documented success story this entire year. Not one! And, the Democrats control the White House (D) and both chambers of Congress - The United States House of Representatives (D) and The United States Senate (D).

The Obama Democrats - same old same old

The Obama Democrats disastrous anti-American decision to bring one of the world's best known terrorists back to US soil to stand trial is simply beyond words. There is nothing, not a single word, in the United States constitution that warrants this action by our President. Why? Simply, Why? Even the most liberal of citizens are completely dumbfounded by this decision.

Congress, specifically, Chris Dodd (D) Chairman of the Senate Banking Committee and Barney Frank (D) Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee (along with all other members of Congress) were solely and completely responsible for the egregious 2009 bonuses Wall Street awarded itself on the backs of the US tax payer. The reason being, Congress blindly signed off on these contracts to begin with. This occurred first with AIG, then Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Citigroup, and on and on and on. This is precisely why government does not belong in business, and why the US taxpayer should not have bailed out these Wall Street firms in the first place. Since our elected officials have not held Wall Street accountable, we must hold Washington accountable, by Voting Them Out of office. There is no other solution.

Congressman Barney Frank (D) Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee continually and repeatedly ignored requests to review the financials of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac - the huge government sponsored enterprises that make up virtually the entire market for mortgages in the United States. Then, the Democratic controlled Congress passed the Christmas Eve Tax Payer Massacre of 2009 on December 24, 2009. The bill, which was purposefully snuck into Congress at the very last minute, authorizes Congress to spend an unlimited amount of tax payer dollars to bailout Fannie and Freddie, and allots an astonishing $400 billion towards the effort to date. All the while Congressman Frank (D) has taken no responsibility whatsoever in regards to the collapse of Fannie and Freddie which ultimately started the snowball effect that ended in the worst recession since the Great Depression. The Democrats, led by Congressman Frank, steered us and the entire US and World economies right into the ground by blindly "rolling the dice" on subprime mortgages. We must hold our leaders accountable for these egregious actions. The only way to do this is to Vote Them Out of office.

Scott McInnis (R) - Congressman McInnis was part of the very Congress (R) who got us into this mess; thus, solidifying himself as a fiscal conservative façade, as well as a legislative proponent of expansive government.

The Colorado Republicans, led by Mr. McInnis, "Platform for Prosperity" is just another "Contract with America" (1994). This Act led to the worst decade for the stock market in the history of the United States (including the Civil War era and the 1930's), we had two asset bubbles (the Internet and Housing), and we are now in the worst recession since the Great Depression with massive amounts of debt, declining GDP, and 10+% unemployment. All of this despite the fact that the primary focus of the Act being: fiscal responsibility, national security, and job creation. The numerous promises of this Act passed by the Republican controlled US Congress - both the House and the Senate (Congressman McInnis included) - did nothing but run up the deficit by billions and billions of dollars. This is not being fiscally conservative.

US Congressman Scott McInnis (R) from 1993-2005 was present in the Republican controlled US Congress (both the House and the Senate) when the Financial Services Modernization Act of 1999 and the American Dream Down Payment Act of 2003 were passed. The passing of the Financial Services Modernization Act "required" banks to lend money to people who they knew could not pay back the loans because they were high credit risk mortgagers. The American Dream Down Payment Act gave money to these "high credit risk" mortgagers for down payments on homes. The combination of these two pieces of legislation are directly responsible for the housing collapse, which led to the Wall Street meltdown, which led to the US and world economies cratering. This simply is not fiscal conservative legislation.

As the self proclaimed leader of the Colorado GOP, and member of the very Congress who got us into this mess, Scott McInnis should be held accountable by the citizens of Colorado, not rewarded for his failures by electing him the next Governor of our state. Scott McInnis is not the right leader for Colorado. He has not lived up to his rhetoric as a fiscal conservative, and he has been an integral part of bad legislation after bad legislation and bad decision after bad decision all of which has led to bigger and bigger government - not what the GOP stands for.

Disenfranchised Republicans - There has not been a true fiscal conservative since Ronald Reagan. Everybody who is a real fiscal conservative knows this. Do not reward another self-proclaimed fiscal conservative Republican unless they have proven they are a true fiscal conservative. Before Jason R. Clark (I) entered the race for Governor of Colorado real fiscal conservatives had no voice, no choice, or option besides the GOP candidate, now you do!

The Bush Republicans - same old same old

Rewarding the GOP for failure after failure is tantamount to rewarding Wall Street, GM and Chrysler, and all the irresponsible homeowners for their failures. The aforementioned institutions and individuals should seek out and take responsibility for their actions, not push them off on upstanding hardworking responsible citizens. The moral hazard has been crossed miles back. The Republican Party has stood by leaderless, emotionless, and without vigor rubber stamping all of the stimulus spending, bad behavior, and poor decisions of irresponsible US citizens. The GOP has not been the guardians of fiscal responsibility that Republicans expect of them.

Republican controlled Congress's (Congressman Scott McInnis (R) included) passed the Financial Services Modernization Act of 1999 and the American Dream Down Payment Act of 2003. These two pieces of legislation single handedly created the housing collapse which led to the Wall Street bailouts which led us into the worst recession since the Great Depression marked by massive amounts of debt, declining GDP, and unemployment of 10+%. This is not the Republican Party (including Congressman McInnis) that we hired to be fiscally conservative, and the guardians of our hard earned dollars.

The Bush Republicans (yes, this includes US Representative Scott McInnis (R) serving in the US House of Representatives from 1993-2005) let fiscal conservatives down. President Bush's administration (R), along with a Republican controlled Congress (6/ 8 years), spent $1.8 trillion (mostly on the War in the Middle East) out doing even the heaviest Democratic challengers (until President Obama trounced everybody - combined). Additionally, during this time the Republicans presided over the most veto-less Presidential administration in modern history dating back to the early 1900's. Vetoing 12 bills setting a 200 year veto-less record is not being fiscally conservative.
